With God all things are possible.
Favorite:  Psalm 27:13-14
"Unless I had purposed or had determined to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (I would panic and be despaired).  You must utterly and completely confide in and wait for the Lord;  you must become strong and urgently cling fast (to the Lord), and He will cause bold, couragious strength to control and sustain your heart.  So you must completely confide in and wait for the Lord.
(translated from original Hebrew by H.L. Downing 1981)

I have a hard time describing my art.  It is a mixture of many different styles, hopefully establishing my own unique style.  I paint with fun and color in mind.

Life should be fun, full of energy and joy. My love for God is often reflected in my work.

Some of my paintings have a child-like quality to them representing innocence, some an almost cartoon quality.   Most of my paintings have some type of message in them, but some are just for fun.  Some are painted in an almost watery quality, similar to watercolors.  Some have texture, some do not.  I have also experimented with some collage and mixed media.  But you will find acrylics on canvas to be my main body of work.  I love the fast drying time of acrylics and also it's durability.

Absence of detail is an objective I use in my style of painting.  My idea of art is that a painting captures the feelings, emotions or message of something.  It is not bogged down in tedious detail.  You should feel something when looking at art.  Even if it is a negative emotion, at least you are feeling something.  Perhaps the art raises questons.  Perhaps it causes you to look inside yourself.  It might give you joy just looking at it every day.  This is what art means to me.  Art should not be boring.  It should inspire and enlighten.

Henri Matisse says it best:  "What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue."
I love the 3-D quality of painting on deep canvas, around the edges.  When walking into a room you catch a sideway glimpse of the painting.  Culminating in viewing the entire painting from the front.  No expensive and bothersome framing to worry about.  The painting is complete in and of itself.

Fauvism is probably closest to my style. See the favorite artists tab above to view some of the artists that have influenced my work.
